Hi everyone!

Besides the obvious, what kit items / equipment / accessories do you have that you feel are really worth having?

I’m slowly but surely building my reffing inventory and just wondering if there’s anything I might be missing?

And do you think the things on my wishlist are worth buying?

Here’s a list of what I have so far if you’re interested!

Thanks so much for your help!

Always have a small bike pump (it's not on your list - even though Ball Needles is) and a spare set of boot laces in there too ... ;)

Out of interest, why do you want to be blowing up balls? Its not your responsibility.
Also why 'ref coin'?
No one wants to be. It just helps if it needs doing and the coach/trainer etc. has forgotten to bring a pump. Not that I'd actually do the pumping myself of course. ;) Same as with flags. Many league rules state that the home club is to supply the CARs with flags but you'd always have your own with you wouldn't you? With the "ref coin" - why not? :)

I'm thinking more of COVID related issues for the needle (needing licked) before inserting.

A coin costs 2-10p whereas a ref coin is what £6? Each to their own i suppose.

I carry a disinfecting spray and alcohol sanitiser so i can squirt the flags when i receive them back.

Exactly 👍

If you ref on fields with another filed next to it, consider whistles with different tones. The Acme Tornado that looks like a bent stick of gum or the Fox 40 Pearl each have distinct sounds that are different from the regular Fox 40 and other whistles most refs use.

Long John's, Underarmour shorts, Underarmour, Neck warmer.......are you reffing in the Artic? You must be Southern? :)

What are sliders? Sock holders? Holders for socks?

Oh yeah! Of course, a pump! I do have spare laces coincidentally. I’ll add pump to the list 👍 thanks very much 😁
I bought a pump a couple of months into my first full season at L7 - first time I used it I managed to snap the needle off, and decided not to replace it 😂

Think you've got pretty much everything else covered though. Completely up to you whether you get a short sleeved shirt too - I have both (I prefer wearing long sleeved, but I find the sleeves are usually a bit too long for my arms so I usually end up going for short sleeves most of the time!)

A foam roller might be a good investment too!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slide_(footwear) and I assume by sock holders he means sock ties

Sliders are great for manky showers. Plastic/rubbery sandal/flip flop type footwear which slide on and off.

Foam Roller is a great idea! I’ve been sat with my legs in an ice bath because they’re pretty sore after 5 games a week for the past few weeks!

I’m yet to wear the long johns but everything else comes in very handy!
