The Ref Stop

Reading v Wrexham

Censorship. Dictatorship
Just seen Reading player was sent off for 2nd cautionable offence.
The 2nd booking was delaying the restart.

Great to see this executed. Wish it was done more.
Reading player stands with ball in his hands, about midway in own half, in preparation for a restart of a free kick from, I'm guessing, an offside (alarm aloft by referee).
He places the ball.
Steps back. Waits a few seconds then runs off for the keeper to take.

Loads do it. But never penalised.

The Ref Stop
Yep saw this on twitter with reading fans unhappy at the decision. In reality it's about as clear am example of time wasting as you'd wish to see

I like Ed
I also like Ross, his successor

Interestingly, during Ed's Roadshows, we had one session in which positioning was the theme. One emphasis was on covering the width of the attacking PA for situations exactly like the PK consideration below. Note Ed is nowhere to be seen hahaha!

Looks like he got the decision right FWIW

The Delaying the Restart C4/C7 was entirely justified. Nice work Ed

I also think Ed is fantastic. His passion for developing referees really shines through.

I'll give my opinion on Ross tomorrow after he's refereed Northampton vs Birmingham. (I joke, Ross seems like a nice guy)
