We had our first society meeting of the new season last night. Our guest speaker, also our society member was Football League Referee Charles Breakspear. Very good presentation looking at different scenarios and all round nice guy.

It is the Surrey FA Referee Meeting on the 29th October and our guest speaker then is Howard Webb.

Breako is a very good speaker. When he talks about his fluctuation in weight, and his difficulty in maintaining a healthy weight, it is an incredibly insightful thing to listen to. 24 years old and has achieved FL middle status after 2(!) years as PL AR! Youngest person in this country's history to be offered FIFA line (to have started on his 25th birthday) and currently the youngest L1 officials.
 
He was a top guy, he is 26 now (I believe thats what he said) but fair play to him. If you work hard and are dedicated you can go far! I'd love to follow in his footsteps!
