The Ref Stop

RA Conference

The Ref Stop
Nope, but from what I've been reading it sounded like I missed an awesome day

I was there... had an enjoyable day. My first breakout session was with Ian Blanchard, then Mark Clattenburg, then Martin Atkinson. All in all - a very good day.

For 2 years running I have been unable to go various reasons. Just really hope I can go next year - fingers crossed

hi guys just joined my local RA what do i do with the number they gave me, i have already inputted it into the members service where all my numbers and qualifications are held. sent off my form with 6 matches on and signed up to the incentive scheme what else should i do????

Keep hold of all the numbers they give you. You should receive the insentive scheme book with a week or two. The book is user friendly and easy to use/get signed.

Then ENJOY THE SEASON & ATTEND THE MEETINGS

so far i have my fan number and RA-FA number plus affiliation number which i think is for my County FA

its a gathering where all the Referees Association members attend and listen, meet and socialise with other referees etc not sure about anything else as havent been before

depending on where it is and timings, if its upon to the all referees im up for it

I think last year it was Leicester - I think it can be a weekend (sat & sun) so maybe we could meet at hotel and share costs etc - just an idea

my local one in Plymouth has one meet every 1st Thursday of the month, the chairman and secretary go over any issues raised for example refs not filling in match reports correctly ect, then you usually have a guest speaker from the likes of Mr Howard Webb to ex goalkeeper and now assistant manager of Plymouth argyle (being a forest fan i had never hear of him ;)) but it was good to listen on his takes on the world of football and how he got to were he is today, quite inspirational. it cost you only £25 a year to become a member and there is other benefits, however check out THE REFEREES ASSOCIATION it will give you every thing you need to know and your RDO should also mention this on your course when you start mine did.

what we should do is get ross to create a room where we could all put ideas in on a annual basis for example we could all meet up at a football match and i am not talking prem but maybe blue square prem game, we could also try and gain free entry :D if planned correctly, the RN have a turney cup every year which most refs attend just to watch and some get asked to ref, everyone has there kit, awesome.

im up for it but im 14, 15 end of january so im not sure if i will be aloud on my own

mate so long as your parents/guardians sign the form you can go, i am 31 in December and i need a permission slip from the wife just to go to the shop.

honestly if we can get this to go ahead the more the merrier bring your folks along, and i would say the same to everyone else too, while we have our little conference they can sit at the back of room. with not qualified hats on.
