Yes but it still seems irrelevant to Op original question / point@socal lurker has literally posted the law and even bolded the relevant part
Law mentions about undergarments and the logic behind that law is so that a team look uniform in terms of colour.Yes but it still seems irrelevant to Op original question / point
I am allowing because if you don’t you open yourself up to some awkward questions and legal issues it’s not me pushing it it’s people not correctly applying LOTG and being last weeks ref.Law mentions about undergarments and the logic behind that law is so that a team look uniform in terms of colour.
Combine this with the part that says if something isn't explicitly covered in law we apply the spirit of the law and I don't think it takes a genius to work out that we shouldn't be allowing it, even if you don't consider underpants to be the same as undershorts / tights. Not sure why you're intent on pushing this so hard?
Edit to add: This is before the fact that it could very clearly be considered an act which shows a clear lack of respect for the game...
You honestly think you'd have awkward questions and legal issues for not allowing a football player to participate with his shorts half way down his arse, with different colour underwear on?I am allowing because if you don’t you open yourself up to some awkward questions and legal issues it’s not me pushing it it’s people not correctly applying LOTG and being last weeks ref.
Home team have red shorts, away team blue shorts. One home team player has his shorts pulled down showing his under blue crackers and he's standing next to an away player at a corner. A shot comes in and you see it his a blue arris, but how would you known which team that arris belongs to?Yes but it still seems irrelevant to Op original question / point

Referees on this forum not daring to go near this gives me confidence on me doing the right thing not going near it at the time as wellMany years ago I refereed a mid-division open ladies grassroots team. One young lady's shorts.... well..., were really short. A very high cut with an upside-down V shape going even higher each side. Something one would wear to a beach walk on a hot day. A few 80s football shorts were high cut. But this wasn't the 80s (was late 2000s), put those shorts to shame and stood out amongst the rest (which I think was the intent). Anyway, hope I painted the right picture.
I was a middle aged man and there was no way I was going to make an issue out of this. I just had to make sure I concentrate on the game without being distracted. Had the same team a few other times that season and the following seasons as well with no issues.

What you show there is not section 4.3 of the laws. Not sure how 4.3 would apply as there’s zero risk.
I'm guessing @HonestRef wears his jeans and shorts like that as well. Hence the the antagonism. You honestly think you'd have awkward questions and legal issues for not allowing a football player to participate with his shorts half way down his arse, with different colour underwear on?![]()
