Neither is normal play.No card at all for either of the two kicks of the ball......just normal play for me, the second isn't even that hard.
The first from Oscar would never be punished, though we do not see the game context and history between the two players.
But, the second strike, towards his own goal: no way normal. Again we don't see the context and it is hard to gauge the level of aggression, but it's in no way normal and easy to call reckless, at least. The only context I have is the previous strike - it points to an offence.
The problem with an eight match retrospective ban is that the referee didn't sanction Oscar at the time therefore it doesn't seem like the ref detected malice in his actions. And it isn't clear from the video.
I thought the officials handled the mass conf really well here and it was great to see the cards. However, the ref should have also, at least cautioned Oscar IMHO
