The Ref Stop
Hi all

Step 7 game - only one appointed NAR so far.

Any advice on how to approach this apart from obvious?

Thanks
As @ChasObserverRefDeveloper has said above, the competition rules sometimes dictate the exact procedure you need to use. On the few occasions I've been in this situation, my usual MO is to keep the appointed AR bench-side for 90 minutes and have each club provide an AR for one half, running the line with their own defence (ideally the same person doing it for the full half to avoid delays in changing over and briefing the new CAR etc., although it usually ends up being the substitutes doing it which usually means change-overs in the second half).

Usual responsibilities for the bench-side NAR, with usual area of credibility (with the proviso that if I'm caught out by a long ball/quick counter-attack after play has been deep in the other half, they need to look for my position and judge whether they might be more credible to flag for something outside their normal credible area). Usual responsibilities for the CAR.

When I have had games with one NAR and I trust him (or when I trust one of my NARs and not the other), I will cheat a bit on positioning to be a bigger prescience in the weak end of the field. (I can’t say if that is what would be expected for the OP.)
