Received a letter last week, from London FA, saying that I had applied last season for associate membership but that owing to "computer problems at the FA" it had not been processed.
The letter then went on to invite me to apply again for 16/17 and contained paper, yes that's old fashioned paper!, forms to complete - including old school form for credit card payments and a typed calendar to cross off dates that I wanted to close.
Duly completed the forms and posted on Monday morning. Yesterday (Weds) morning, a letter arrived , confirming my application along with an old school membership card, in a wallet, along with a London FA badge.
Quarterly old school again paper magazine and printed handbook to follow.
48 hour turn round - well done London FA!
Can't help comparing that with a local league that shall remain nameless.
1st season gave me one match 25 miles away on a date that I said I couldn't do - I did do it as it was a cup s/f. Only had one NAR for that one. Next season, didn't hear a thing from them and this April they sent an email round asking for help in May - sent in my dates - again nothing.
