Had a weird one yesterday. First time sending off a player for insulting me. He called me a ‘f-ing pr-k’.

I sent him off, and after I did so, one of the subs shouted ‘whatever he said to you, he’s right’. I cautioned him for dissent but was sort of in two minds - could it class as OFFINABUS?

I thought it might be hard to justify a red, but equally he could’ve said something serious which he’s essentially echoing. I really wanted to send him off in the moment, but kept my head and gave the yellow

A caution is correct here, he hasn't really used any language that could be deemed as OFFINABUS. Would be a real stretch to say that a player agreeing with a comment another player made could be classed as that.

I'd say whatever your gut feel tells you at the time would be the right decision for the simple reason as it was directed at you so you are the best person to judge its offensiveness. Key here is not to do it to retaliate, but because it is the right decision. For me, in the same context and as per described, I'd also likely caution only.

But on the extreme end if the original language was racial and/or discriminatory, then the comment "he is right" is very likely to offend me and get a red, especially if he/she heard the language before commenting.
