The Ref Stop

OFFINABUS Red + IDFK in Box (Las Palmas v Mallorca)

How loud and how said? The problem here is that the action is visible to the stands. I strongly suspect that VARs and teams have been told this is what would happen for obscene gestures.
Thanks. That's exactly where I was going with that. I figured the hand gesture must be considered more offensive since everyone/anyone can see it. I'm guessing if they were just running up field and were going back and forth between themselves and one said FU, maybe a warning to knock it off at most, right?

I'm pretty sure flipping the bird is seen as far more offensive in Spain than it is in England, perhaps that is why they got involved.

The VAR drew the world's attention to a gesture that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. I think it best left in the unnoticed bracket
It's not conclusive from that image which finger was raised FWIW, so unless there's another angle, he may get the dismissal rescinded
The eagle eyed VAR would've been better off keeping their powder dry in my view

Not conclusive which finger?

LOL a career in politics awaits

Not sure if VAR uses a phone screen and a grainy feed like we have.

And I'm sure there will be some jokes/puns around which finger was used if I think hard enough. But I can't be bothered.
