What world class defender, heading out of the world cup, with ten mins to go, jumps for a header but decides to throw his hands onto the ball ?

Nobody

And hit his hands in an unnatural position, denying the opponents a really good chance as a result.

Devils advocate here!
try jumping as high as you can and also heading a ball, pretending to works the same and see where your arms end up. That position is not as un natural as it might look on the slow mo

His hands are up there because he's using them to fend off the attacker. Dunno if that makes it much more legit?

The attacker is 3 or 4 yards away and the arm is way lower than the shoulder so hardly waving it around in an "un natural" position. This is exactly where your arm will end up of you go outside now and try to re enact it without raising your arm.

Just about deserved that, we’ll done Cakir, difficult game and kept his head up when Graeme was losing his! :asshat:

Not getting a bloody player to seek medical attention off the field is a massive mistake at any level - based on what we are taught, player safety and what football expects.

Is the yellow card policy in this world cup part of a coordinated instructed wider loose line on all infringements/sanctions? I think we (and the players) should be told.
