Starting last fall, US collegiate referees wore two completely different referee kits depending on the affiliation of the assignor. The NCAA (college governing body) stepped in and created a new, standardized uniform that all referees working college will wear starting this fall. Black socks and shorts complete the look, which is a change from one of the organizations having socks matching the shirts in most cases.
