Moving away from where I will be qualified

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this. I’m going to be able to complete the refereeing course with Lancashire FA in August after being on the waiting list for ages. However, I’m moving to Leicester in September. Will I have to redo the course with Leicestershire as I technically won’t have any/little experience or is it a matter of registering myself with Leicestershire? Thanks in advance

I would imagine the complication here comes with whether you can get 5 games in while in Lancashire to become officially qualified (you're not officially qualified until after your 5th match)

If you can, it's no problem at all. If you can't then I'm sure the 2 counties can talk to each other to make it work if you talk to the Referee Development Officer.

Thanks. Be about 4 weeks between finishing the course and moving so hopefully be able to get the 5 in

Yeah you'll be fine and even better if you get your 5 games in asap. If I was you I would speak to Leicestershire FA and get yourself dual registered with them and Lancashire so you can take advantage of local CPD opportunities and get county appointments

The RDOs all know each other, so would just be a case of one speaking to the other to make sure you get your required games in wherever that might be.

To start the process, inform your RDO and include the anticipated date of your move. They will do the necessary to assist you getting the 5 games in.
If moving permanently (as opposed to University, for example) contact the Leicester RDO to set in place your registration there.
One e-mail addressed to both will suffice.
Good luck!
