The Ref Stop
Cook’s not the most egregious SFP I’ve ever seen but still the right call. A good example of one-footed endangering an opponents safety.

When there’s been a rhetoric of PL Officials relying on VAR for SFP, nice to see it given
Agree, lots of accusations that PGMOL referees use VAR as a safety blanket when it comes to red cards, but if they do Tom Bramall certainly hasn't read that manual. Two pretty much instant red cards, and I'll admit that my initial view on the second one was he'd got it wrong (he hadn't, I was wrong).

Second one was a weird challenge. Normally with SFP, one of the things mentioned was going in with a straight leg. Cooks leg certainly wasn't, but agree with red card

I think that's why I was initially surprised a red came out, but then watching the replay he really jumped into the tackle with a lot of force. Once you do that any kind of contact is going to leave you in big trouble. I think this was a really good spot from Tom Bramall.

Think it's a credit to his positioning. Close enough to evaluate the contact point, but still maintains a wide enough angle that he can judge the speed/intensity of the challenge.

Was actually more surprised at the first RC. While I agree with it, I think that's been a yellow in other circumstances in recent years

Red Card 67’

Agree?
Both sendoffs were very good calls. First one is a clear DOGSO. Second one is a foul that sometimes isn't sanctioned as SFP in the professional game, but should be. Really liked seeing both sendoffs correctly called on the field instead of needing to utilize VAR to overturn the onfield call.

Like everyone i think they were both goos send off. Also brave.
I do get the feeling though the second was was a lot easier to give because city was playing a player short.
Yeah I thought this too. No sleight on Bramall obviously, but it's always easier when it's evening up!

There's still nothing wrong to suggest that could be the case and it wouldn't surprise me with some referees if that was the case but fair play to the referee here, he saw it for what it was and went for the brave but ultimately correct decision.
