No, this isn't the thread you're probably expecting.

I thought he was excellent yesterday. It wasn't a particularly difficult game to referee, but he was completely in control throughout. A little bit inconsistent in terms of yellow cards for me, but good nonetheless.

It baffles me how he's had so few games, our best referee by a country mile.

@Ross - I think @Matthew account has been hacked!?!?!?!? :D Not the usual post mate ;)

He did a good job. Funny no media circus around a referee doing his job well though.

Worst day as a referee: everybody is unhappy/all over the papers/all the refs fault.

Best day as a referee: nobody cared.

I think Chuck Mosley said it best:

It's a dirty job but someone's gotta do it.

Can't say I know what you're talking about!

As a Chelsea fan I thought he did a great job. Was an easy game to ref considering the stature but made to look easy because he had control throughout.

I love his exaggerated "I'm the ref now f off and play football" arm motion :D

I rate him in the country's top 3, but I thought it was his weakest performance I've seen from him in a long time.
When the legs started getting tired and both teams had settled for the draw, many tactical fouls by both teams did not see the YCs they deserved.
