Need to be selling that hard in debrief if you think you can get something from it. And in reality is a reward for the AR managing sub as opposed to referee.

I'm pleased this has happened, because it's made me think about my own procedure when 4th official. With what I've done previously, it's possible that I might not have noticed something like this.

Not sure I would have spotted an unnamed player, unless I recognised them and knew they weren't named on the team sheet. I was taught to write the number of each sub on the sub cards, then when the card was handed in to me check that the number coming on they had written matched one of the numbers I'd written on the card before the game. I don't recall validating names at Conference / National League level.
