LOTG Question

Just going back to the original question of whether a kick-off must be taken after a goal has been scored, there was a good, practical example of this in the PSG vs Chelsea game last night. Chelsea scored right at the end of the one added minute in the first half. Immediately after the goal was scored, the referee blew for half time and all the players walked straight down the tunnel. No confusion, no need to kick off and nothing wrong in what the referee did (as far as I am concerned).

That came up on a friend's recertification test recently.

That was one situation we came up with -- the other being extending time for a penalty kick.
