The Ref Stop
We have to be aware of unconscious bias. This is why I hate refereeing my son's U15 team. The risk is that you give decisions for the other team on the basis that you don't want to appear to have any bias towards the team that other people will think you may be biased towards. It's a difficult one, and whilst I can understand the change, it would have been better having been considered beforehand, rather than being seen as reactive.

Do you agree with Mr Wenger? I do - strange decision from Mr Riley IMHO.

I agree too.
Whilst some may consider it a slur on Kevin Friend's professional integrity (wouldn't blame him for protesting to be honest) the fact is that the Premiership title is at stake here (won't even bother to try and quote financial figures involved  ) and so there can be no possibility of questionable impartiality when it comes to selecting the right man for the job in Leicester's matches.

As much as I'd like Geordie Clattenburg to have the middle for Toon's next 3 matches (especially the one against Sunderland :p ) - it just wouldn't be right and proper. :)

Mark Halsey refereed his team QPR against Millwall, awarded two penalties to Millwall, and said he never wanted to do a QPR game again...

And in relation to this, he alludes to what Manchester City fans think about Anthony Taylor's allegiance! http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/mark-halsey-claims-huge-newcastle-7753981

I'm involved in local politics, and for a declaration of interest it's not whether you're biased but whether there might be an appearance that you're biased.
