Level 4W Referee
I am a younger referee . I started doing my level 7 to 6 but I had to stop due to my mental health as I couldn't cope with the abuse I was getting from men's open age leagues. So I just continued with youth. I run the line on the womens national league and enjoy it and wanted to get back into middles but for the women's side. I know I will be refeering in the regional/county leagues. But I wanted to know if you get less abuse then men's open age. As I don't want it to affect my mental health again.
can anyone give me some advice

Thanks
Kieran

Generally speaking there is less dissent and often less aggression. but it doesn’t mean women’s football is just an easy option. You can opt just to be on the female pathway.

The main difference at the National League Level on the womens game I find is the pace of the game. The equilvant level in the mens is much quicker. The womens game I find is more technical and yes you do get less abuse, not saying there is not any.

The female pathway is going through lots of changes and is becoming more and more professional.

I operate on both pathways by the way for reference.

No.
They are the same. Different challenges however the game is the same. The Laws don’t change either. Maybe some Women’s football is a little slower, maybe. There’s a few different type of incidents to be aware of, different etiquette if a man officiating ladies. One I notice more in women’s football is hair pulling for instance.

But in my opinion there’s not much difference
