Just shorten it by saying the 4DsReferees should consider the following circumstances when deciding whether
to send off a player for denying a goal or an obvious goalscoring opportunity:
• the distance between the offence and the goal
• the likelihood of keeping or gaining control of the ball
• the direction of the play
• the location and number of defenders
• the offence which denies an opponent an obvious goalscoring opportunity
may be an offence that incurs a direct free kick or an indirect free kick
How many of the above criteria does the action meet?
Distance - close enough to goal for a shot on goal
Ball control - under the attacker's control
Direction of play - towards goal
Location and number of defenders - 2 outfield and a goalkeeper. 2nd outfield player would have had chance to block run?
Offence - incurred a direct free kick
On balance and consideration of the criteria - this is an OGSO
Thanks for your advice however if I say 4Ds how does that help educate less experienced referees? It is better to go into detail to explain, then they can comprehend the reasoning behind a decision, not just a mnemonic or abbreviationJust shorten it by saying the 4Ds
At 00:43 in the video, The attacker (Alexis Sanchez) loses control of the ball then the player fouls him. There is no way he would have gotten to the ball before the keeper.Referees should consider the following circumstances when deciding whether

Debuchy???Red for me, the keeper isn't getting there first. Debuchy is at full pelt when fouled whereas the keeper hasn't even started moving to his right.
That is correct! Thanks for your advice however if I say 4Ds how does that help educate less experienced referees? It is better to go into detail to explain, then they can comprehend the reasoning behind a decision, not just a mnemonic or abbreviation
