The offside law is just fine, its your VAR implementation which is ruining it.

I'm guessing every VAR 'incorrect' decision actually defaults to a 'correct' referee decision, and alongside every 'check' confirming the on field decision, these two factors would be how they pad out the figures.

A simple solution would be to award a penalty kick to the opponents. But, that's too easy for the IFAB.
