Referee/Mentor
When i was back down south(Berkshire) i would take my son to play in matches(U11, he's 25 now) the quality of refereeing was really bad but quite often there was no referee, so i volunteered at one match and at the end the manager said "If i pay for the referee course would you like to be our referee?" Well i said yes and he was reimbursed the cost after i done 10 matches, and i told him all matches are allocated by the league so i couldn't referee all his home matches. But as coincidence would have it i refereed 6 matches for him that season including some away ones. My only claim to fame is that at one end of the seasons presentations he got Martin Keown (photo took with son) to present medals etc. apparently his son played for one of the managers friends teams.
