Going for promotion?

Hi All,

I have recently been thinking about applying for promotion for the upcoming season. Last season I completed over 20 games that were mainly U17s/U18s. I haven’t done open aged football for a couple of seasons but thinking about going from Level 7 to 6 this season.

Shouled i focus on getting more experience of getting open aged games before applying or should i be okay to apply and gain experience whilst doing the promotion?

If you can handle U17/18 you should be able to handle open age no problem at all!

You need a minimum 10 games of OA and the rest can be done at Youth Level - to dip your toes in to some open age football I would also recommend joining your local step 6/5 league as an assistant, where you’d be part of a team and running the line for Level 4 Referees.
