Well done for checking.New ref, just trying to clarify my understanding of the LOTG.
A forward can't challenge a 'bounce' that GK's sometimes do while running with ball during their 6 seconds prior to release? What about a GK that 'pats' down an incoming shot and then collects the ball as it bounces back?

CorrectCan I just clarify though. If he's clearly in control of the ball, and then bounces the ball as part of his 'travelling with the ball' then this bounce can't be challenged.
Penalised unless it's Loris in the FA Cup final! If the goalk
Well done for checking.
If the goalkeeper "pats the ball down" it is in play and he can be challenged.
The referee has to look for the difference between a save in which the goalkeeper gets hand(s) to the ball and fails to hold it (in which case he can handle it again) and a "pat down" (when he can be penalised if he releases it into play by doing so and then handles again)
Thank you.Correct
