Some may recall a Premier League (I think) match in Wales a few seasons ago when a team down to 7 players then had one onfield player injured; the referee waited for him to be ready to return, and restarted the game.

Hmm. I thought there was guidance that if it is the 7th player who is injured the game waits until he is ready and resumes with the 7 on the pitch.

That might well be the case, I was just suggest the (for any reason) part of IFAB's response perhaps wasn't technically correct.
