💻 WEEK 29 REVIEW

Wizzy takes top spot back at the first opportunity, navigating what ended up as a tricky bonus round to put a nine-point swing into previous leader One. A handful of trebles across the matches, but it was Brighton's win at Newcastle that gazzumped all of us apart from Josh. The draws at Old Trafford and Aberdeen didn't see many points handed round as the majority fancied a winner either way, and it's Josh again who scores on an away win in the Athens-Olympiacos clash.

🏆 BALON D'OH

RefereeX will meet Josh in the Final after seeing off ES1 and Gabriel respectively. We'll hold that in Week 37.

Can I have clarity on how the scoring of bonus 2 works? i.e. if I say cards by 5 and it's cards by 1, do I lose 5 pts?

Yeah. It's a push-your-luck thing. If your (optional) Bonus 2 is wrong, everything's wrong (-5).
Probably being thick here. If we get bonus 1 right, but bonus 2 wrong, we lose 5 from the bonus? Or do they cancel and become 0?

If Bonus 2 is wrong, it's -5 overall bonus score. It's an optional Monte Carlo or Bust kinda thing.

Very rare @Archer bonus round L

Haha, appreciate the idea, but I think that yellow cards would be a huge favourite over goals (average around 4 per game as opposed to around 2.5 goals per game) and I think it's way too hard to get the exact number difference right to make it worth while going for it.
I haven't actually checked the stats on cards or goals per game in the MLS, but I'd estimate those figures to not be too far out.

Tottenham Hotspurs
I think, to a Spurs fan, this would be more offensive than the name Archer used in the original post.

Either Tottenham Hotspur (No 's') or 'Spurs' but not a combination of the 2, which sounds incredible Americanised.

Thought the same. I actually checked the stats from 2024 and the gap is bigger.
And for bonus 2, the risk is not worth the reward, or more so the punishment.

But give him a break. He's only had two blunders since he started this comp. The bonus round for this week and changing his profile name 🤣

Yeah, admit it was a crappy second bonus idea. :D

Think I was aware that some predictions might come in well after some of the MLS games have finished so wanted to add some jeopardy.
