Although it's only my first season refereeing, the cup final fixtures and appointments have been published.
In my local league there are about 9 finals (outside of the county league 6-5 referee). Every single middle has gone to a level 5-6 referee and not one level 7 has been given one. Most of the names have probably only officiated at the lower level a handful of times at best this season.
Don't get me never in a million years was I expecting to get one or am I expecting to get one next season, but there's enough level 7 refs in the area who are decent refs and been about a bit that could have been considered.
But hey, perhaps that's just me hey, games for the boys!
