Level 9 Referee
Hi all,
I have been attached to a club and been reffing u13's for about a year.
I reffed my first u18's at the weekend, thought it went well a few things i have noted which i need to improve on but i guess that's part of the whole learning curve!

One thing i am confused about is the promotion from level 9-7, i have already done more than 6 games since sitting the course with my attached club and believe i can use 3 of these games towards the promotion, do the other 3 games after be arranged by the CFA or must i arrange these games myself? Should i have been assigned a mentor?
Thanks

As long as the games are either 9v9 or 11v11, with full offside law for the 9v9 (and obviously for the 11v11) then you should be able to use all of those games towards your 6. Even friendlies count.
I was allowed (I checked beforehand) to use a friendly that was also a "trials" match whereby the players on one side were trialling for a position in the otherside.
None of my games were arranged by anyone but me...they do not have to be assigned but should be with registered clubs or a school, college etc (i.e. not a kickabout)

As for the mentor, we weren't assigned mentors unless we specifically asked for them, however the one assigned to my daughter wouldn't mentor me as I have already reffed about 8 games and he said he would only do them as part of the six.

Once you have completed your 6 games, then your "promotion" will happen once you complete your Module 5 "course".

Good luck

Yep, any 9-a-side or 11-a-side game with offsides count. Don't know how it works where you are but in Essex there are mentor co-ordinators for different parts of the county and you have to contact them to get one. Best thing to do is contact somebody at County HQ.
