First Adult Womens Game at 16

Hi,
I have been refereeing for about 2-3 years on and off but have finally locked in this season and started grinding out youth games. I turned 16 in October so started doing my first Adult matches (both mens and women's) on the line. I've just got my first adults game as main ref in the JGMT 3rd Round so I was wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks for the women's game. If anyone has any advice from having been in a similar situation it'd be greatly appreciated

I got some great advice: “no one wants water polo football.” Basically, if nothing happens for long periods don’t get trapped thinking every contact is a foul. And be proactive with the non-decisions. When there is contact and action be in the game. Mens’ games basically never go off the boil, but a women’s game might. Don’t switch off if there’s an odd pause.

You might experience much more sporting behaviour than mens/youth but you might get something nasty, so be prepared. If you have young assistants remind them to keep watching the field, not their toes! Again, as AR it’s easy to switch off if there’s game goes quiet.

Thanks for the advice. If you don't mind I need a hand on a potential kit clash. Home team plays red, black and white check shirts, black shorts, black socks while the away team wears navy blue shirts, shorts and socks with an all grey keeper. Is the navy blue Vs black shorts something I should ask the away team to change or can I leave it?

That’s something for competition rules.
(AFAIK shorts clash is not a thing so I would not worry, but there might be better advice…)
