FA Interviews for grassroots referees

[Kent Ref]

I just did an interview with the FA where they asked you about your perceptions of the CFA/FA.

Interesting stuff and it's nice to be able to say how you feel.

They want to take referees concerns to the FA in order to make things better.

You also get a £50 kitlocker voucher.

I'd do it for free!

It's at least good that they're asking the question.

I did it too. I think they were focusing on dissent/abuse and the support offered. It was also open to coaches and players I think.

They were asking me a lot about what support was available to me and what I think good support looks like.

I felt they had some theories and they were checking if they were true. I said I thought the start of the season was worse for dissent etc as everybody thinks they can win every game, they haven't felt the sting of the fines and the hot weather doesn't help. While they mentioned they felt the trend was winter was when most people had their worse experiences.

Genuinely a good conversation, but they are from a university, not the FA.

A deliberate move by The FA so the results are not influenced by the controlling body.

Ooh what will you spend that £50 on?

Half a Nike sock?

Going to get myself half a warm winter jacket.
