Good refereeing in the main.
Moxey red card? Harsh? Correct call? Came following an altercation between two players seconds earlier where one swung an elbow round on the other.

Just seen a free kick given where Northampton player brings the ball outside the Exeter area about 10 or so yards, and you can clearly see ref say leave the ball numerous times. They eventually leave it and Exeter take the kick from the spot the Northampton player leaves the ball. Ref sees it may of actually given Exeter and advantage and brings it back.
Personally I think if a player drags/kicks the ball away, if you're not going to caution them, then you deem the ball not to have been moved far from the kick either so play on.
The now defending team benefitted from delaying the kick (a quick kick maybe) by dragging it away and not even penalised whilst having a few more seconds to get back into position.

Late, from behind and no chance to play the ball. The camera on the live shot on the link above misses it because it tracks the play.

Not the nastiest of challenges you’ll ever see, but certainly endangers the opponents safety. Has an element of the revenge tackle too for the possible elbow although I’m sure it’s a different Northampton player that gets wiped out.

Agree, it is the revenge element and just how late it was that does it for me, pretty clear red card.

Congrats to ex Blade Keith Curle, and great to see a BAME manager getting some deserved success.... Average footballer but he's very articulate when he talks on the radio.....

Absolutely a red card.
but
The ref missed a fk to Exeter in the first place, safe simple refereeing, give Exeter the first free kick correctly, game stopped, its maybe even a caution for the Northampton player, certainly a warning .
To those of us operating without assistants, you cannot play on there, impossible to keep trailing eye on the first encounter, and catch the red card tackle, and be watching the attacking through ball which follows.
Was there a punch thrown, granted not a forceful one, at the Northampton player too? Its not clear from the camera angle but the Northampton player looks to have been struck, to his credit ( despite his bad tackle), he aint made a lot of it

credit AR at the second goal btw, very good decision to keep flag down, thise ones are not easy...

That non offside was a great call. That AR is our local RA’s chairman (did you manage to watch, @Tino Best? ) and thought he did really well
