Thought this too.Referee letting plenty going, can see a nasty tackle incoming.
They aren't showing replays of potential penalties.
Not disagreeing.I thought it was blatantly not a penalty, right decision for me
Was watching the match last night with someone who operates as VAR and he said it's not really a pen but in the prem he's probably not intervening but with FIFA the VAR protocol can be thrown out the window at times.Clear and obvious to disallow penalty?
Soft penalty for sure. But is it that wrong to overrule?
And although a friendly, 90 seconds from giving penalty and restarting with dropped ball and stops half 11 seconds past the original 4 minutes. Hope it is just a friendly for this and its not something we see going forward.
The law doesn't say that players only have five seconds to take a throw-in. It says the referee can start a five second count down if they decide that a player is unfairly delaying the taking of a throw-in.Thought this too.
And throws. Guessing the 5 seconds or however long its meant to be is ignored until tomorrow night when the WC actually starts.
Left back already taking too long, gets told to go back, does so (wasting more time) and stands for a few more seconds (wasting time) before jogging to take and stops (where ref initially told him to go back from) wastes another second or two before moving forward another step to take it.
So not only ignoring the new law but allowing the player to take the piss out of her by moving back to where he wanted to take the throw and not the ref.
I know that, but when the throw in was taking a long time already, I dont understand why the ref didnt start the "countdown", and if she did, why not earlier. The law doesn't say that players only have five seconds to take a throw-in. It says the referee can start a five second count down if they decide that a player is unfairly delaying the taking of a throw-in.
Never really see DOGSO handling given that far out unless it's an empty net.Curious about the other penalty that was given, Gordon I believe. From Eze's shot the defender moves his arm (well his elbow) deliberately in the path of the ball to prevent the goal being scored. If you're going by IFAB it should be a red card for DOGSO?
