To be fair it's probably one of the 10 best leagues in Europe and by far the best 2nd division in the world. The amount of television money they get is actually quite paltry. And it makes a very difficult to compete with teams that have dropped down from the Premier league with their parachute payments.

Added to that, there is a whole different system relating to financial conduct under FFP between the PL and Championship. That means you can break the FFP rules to get promoted and face no punishment as long as you don't get relegated back to the Championship at any point. I'm not sure a PL2 fits the bill, ultimately all that will do is create a disparity further down the pyramid, where instead of the money gap being significant for Championship clubs, its then between PL2 and L1 level, making it harder for teams to enter PL2 than it currently is for them to get into the Championship.

All a PL2 would do would be to decrease the number of "have nots" by somewhere between 10 and 20 clubs.

Whilst they make a fair point it just wont be worth it for the likes of SKY and BT to get involved. Yes they can put Leeds v Middlesborough or Villa v West Brom on and get a decent audience, but with all due respect will those people tune in for Rotherham v Preston??

You can now see those High Flying Blades on the Sky Championship Roundup or Channel 5’s supberb coverage on the ‘League Leaders section’ of the programme and then you can tune into BBC1s Doctor Who to see Dem Blades aswell! 😂😂😂.

Mighty not massive!!! ⚔️⚔️⚔️
