Unfortunately no. That's a clear red card because the language used is definitely Insulting and Abusive

Afraid not IMO. For something that is so clearly offensive and insulting, delivered directly to an opposition player after you've already called them over to speak to them, it's a red card.

I'll bear that in mind in future, he was very shocked to even get a yellow card so a red card would have been unbelievably hard to sell!
Abusive/insulting language can be very subjective, the other player didn't bat an eyelid at the comments, however the laws are such for a reason I suppose.

'Having to sell' a decision shouldn't really be a concern of yours, if you've made a decision that you're happy with and it is correct in law, then you don't have to sell it whatsoever, its their problem to deal with the outcome!!!
