I always think back to the game I've done and review my performance, incidents etc and I wish I acted on dissent from the touchline on Sunday.
Home manager , 1st half, usual shouts for offside, a penalty and a couple of throw ins on his side.
Second half, his team win a penalty, his team are 6-3 up at this point and he's shouting for a red card, last man etc, I ignore him and then I hear him shouting not even a yellow. By the letter of the law a yellow card would be the right call, in the spirit of the game, I didn't think it would make any difference/any benefit to it.
The away manager has a few words with him asking him what's the point in asking for a yellow, he's got a penna etc.
When I did blow for free kicks for his side, he was shouting for advantage!!
All his shouts were very loud And everyone could hear
I guess I could have used the stepped approach but at what point and what do you say to a manager. Would you accept the usual shouts for offside and free kicks??
I'm thinking the best opportunity was for one of throw ins and his side, I could have had a word then.
