Made an honest attempt all day long to play the ball just a little clumsy ever so slightly.

MIB, get ur crystal ball out and tell me the chances of VAR helping DE out the mire later in the game
 
I don't think the defender had a realistic possibility of playing the ball and the push (which is better seen from behind and to the right) was the dominant action
We're splitting hairs however
 
Regarding VAR, as the penalty decision wasn't cast iron, I didn't think this would be reviewed when the tournament kicked off
That's all changed now however, because they're reviewing PK incidents on a 'routine' basis. Depending on which way the wind is blowing (and whose playing!)
