Dad vs. Qualified Ref

So today I watched one of the worst performances I have ever seen.

A dad took charge of an U13 game. Within the first couple of minutes it was clear he didn’t have any idea. Foul throws ignored, pushing/shoving, no handballs and ignored the opposition linesman each and everytime. When he started to make the keeper take the goal kick from the side the ball left the field I gave up.

I applaud him for wanting to help, but when will clubs take the proactive steps to at least try and support dads or mums who are trying to ‘help’. I say help but in this instance it was blatant cheating...

The Referee Store
Was it deliberate cheating or did he just had no clue?

Couldn't you offer your services given you were a qualified ref?

Yes sounds like just no clue more than anything else.

Far from ideal but taking a guess it was him or nobody????

we hear stories on here from newly qualified refs who are all over the shop in their first games.....if its daunting for them imagine how it feels for someone who is not qualified??

Probably less pressure on someone who isn't qualified though as people should understand that he is doing it as a favour.
