I cant understand why Pawson wasn't sent to view the screen There was no contact on Eze other than a hand on his chest- no contact what so ever with the feet and absolutely nothing that would cause someone to drop to the floor the way he did
If VAR was introduced to stop cheating and simulation then it totally failed with this incident and Pawson should have been informed because he would have ruled against a penalty on viewing it I'm sure
If we are trying to encourage players to stay on their feet and only award penalties with a raised bar with regards to contact in the penalty area then this one was totally wrong and more likely to get players dropping down with the minimalist of touches
Arm across him so from Pawson's angle would look like he's blocked him off/pulled him back.
VAR isn't going to intervene because it's not a C&O error because there is contact. If you watch the replay looks as if he has grabbed his shirt because it moves if that makes sense.
