Correct Restart?

Had an interesting one in my game this morning.

Attacker was taking a corner and as he kicked the ball, a ball from another pitch entered the FOP and knocked the ball out. I went with a retake at the time, which was accepted all round.

Thinking now though that it should have been a drop ball (outside interference?).

Any ideas?

Sorry didnt see the as he kicked it bit ! Drop ball it is !....but its one of those the players dont know the laws so no matter what you give they accept .

Should have given a goal kick :D
 
Yes, it's a drop ball - but didn't the ball enter the pitch a moment before the kick was taken? ;)

I'd only go for the drop ball if it's quite clearcut that it entered after.

A drop ball right by the corner flag (I am assuming this is where it hit the match ball).... Lol nothing untoward can happen there if it is contested!
 
Thanks guys, I must admit I was almost certain it was wrong as soon as I'd given it. Lesson learned! :)
 
and stand over it like a hawk to get the Corner / GK that will result (GK if you want to get it away form the goal or corner if you want them to have the corner back as it were) depedning who it comes off last.
