Yesterday I looked at my emails to find an unlikely one from my RDO, it said

Please confirm if you are available to be an Assistant Referee for the below mentioned fixture:
English Schools FA U14 Inter County Cup 1st Rd
Cornwall v Cardiff & S Wales
At Penlee Park, PenzanceOn Saturday 5th October 2013, Kick Off 1.00pm (Officials to be at the ground by 12.15)

I was shocked to find that me, a level 8 referee, had been asked to be an assistant on an inter-county match. I'll take that any day.
