The Ref Stop

Collina Masterclass

The Ref Stop
Has anyone got a link for it that they have found online? Thanks

Watched it on demand this morning. Excellent, especially to be able to hear the audio between the AAR and the referee.
Pierluigi also gave an answer to the frequently asked question of why they stand on the same side as the ARs. The answer was that if they were on the other side then the referee would have to change the angle of his run which doesn't come naturally. If they are on the same side he can officiate as he normally would, just with two extra eyes at each end!

Yeah I watched it too today and it was very insightful. Hearing the conversations like that was fascinating!

Does anybody have one that I can watch here in Canada? It seems to be region blocked or something as the video will not load for me on the link in OP.

I don't think there's any way because I've tried before whilst abroad, but it'll probably appear on YouTube/some other video service in the next few months.

It is on again tonight 6pm UK time. You might be able to catch a live stream online if you don't have SKY

Greham souness fawning over Collina is pitiful to watch. "Oooo I didn't know that Collina, oh yes everyone should be told this!" Yes Greham the laws of the game were a secret before today, and the fact that all the officials are miked up? That didn't make you think they talk to each other about what is going on in the game.

Sheesh. :)

So I'm just watching it now and I'm at the part where the man city player has taken out Messi. So it's not a DOGSO if it's inside the penalty area?? Jeez try selling that one on your local parks league, gonna be a red all day long for me.

I am right in what was said aren't i?

I was confused as well at first - I think he is trying to say that UEFA think it shouldn't be DOGSO in the box because the chance is restored, but in reality the law still stands and referees currently have to send off in the penalty area like the Robben incident against Arsenal.

A really enjoyable watch. I'm sure that I wasn't alone in wondering what the fifth and sixth officials did either, to actually hear what they say and the thought processes that go into a decision is really interesting. I'm sold on the idea now, though I don't agree with him when it comes to GLT.

It clearly showed that extra officials can be crucial, but in fairness when I met Lee Probert earlier this season and a friend asked him what they do, his reply was 'not much - it's easy money' :D

Well that's because compared to being in the middle, on the line or even the fourth official, you don't, in fact, do much.

No longer have Sky so can't watch this. Does anybody have any ideas how I can watch this? Maybe a link online somewhere?...
