Clarification please (new ref!)

Refereeing is a thankless task and I am a lot more respectful to refs now when I am playing!

I only Recently qualified so can someone clarify the following scenarios:

1. Once you book a player for dissent aimed at you and they carry on muttering about you, or to their team mates where is the line... when do you show red if it's persistent but low level and you have already carded them.

2. Players shoving each other in box prior to set peice, you call them over and have a word, then they carry on... yellow card for both and under what sanction... unsporting conduct?

3. Is it a Straight red if called idiot... or worse C*#T ?!

Last one I promise (for today)!

4. If a referee gets assaulted or spat at which I have seen unfortunately, do they get any compensation or is it just a ban and a fine for the player?!

Regards
Tony

For dissent, if you hear them talking about you, depending on what they say you could use stepped approach again (annoying but a clear guide) but I would give them one warning and then second yellow and bye-bye. I rarely use captains as my experience tells me that they don't often do much!

An assault on a Ref last season resulted in a 3 year ban plus a chat from the local police.

If the c word is used in your direction - make them walk. It's usually preceded my another swear word or doubts about integrity!!
