I was the home team CAR for an U18 league game yesterday
At half-time, I told the referee that the away team captain had a plaster covering the lower part of his left ear and I was thinking that it might be covering up an ear stud/bar, whatever.
The referee, who had mentioned previously that he was running the line on County games this season, explained to me that it was o.k. to wear it as long as it was covered up.
I shook my head sadly, said, 'No, it's not o.k.' and walked away.
I've asked the league secretary if she could send a reminder out to all their refs and managers to say that players cannot wear jewellery and that covering it up is not an option.
