Your first image is clearly the wrong frame. There is a small gap between the foot and ball in the shadow. Given angle of sun, the actual gap would be even bigger.

But even with my image, it looks more off than on.

Be fair, I took image from a news page. Its not mine, per se.

wrong frame. He was def just onside (behind the ball). arms, of course, were ahead of the ball, but they don't count.
