Usual disclaimer that I am a Brighton fan but it means it’s usually the only game I see and I have a LOTG related question.

The handball for the Brighton penalty at the end of the game should have been a red card for handball DOGSO no?

A yellow was given and I’m not sure how a yellow could be given in any circumstances unless it was judged USB?

I'm a Brentford fan....

And I came here to see if someone had asked and got a reply...
I'm absolutely baffled as to how it was a yellow. And how it wasn't given without VAR....

Keeper in the middle of the goal.
I assume the decision is that it wasn't denying an obvious goal.
Not denying an opportunity as the shot has already been taken so it can only be a red if its stopped an obvious goal.

They'd have to be very close to 100% sure the ball was going into the goal without the handling, and that is a very difficult outcome to get to unless the handling is actually on, or very close to, the goal line. Handling a shot that is on its way to the goal, as opposed to about to go in it, will almost always be given as a caution.
