The Ref Stop
Rice (he does it a lot when you think about it, players on attack) trips Rogers whilst trying to get into the area and gets away with it.
Rogers gets cautioned for complaining about it.

And also, thought ball kids are not meant to touch the ball..

Palmer should have had a caution for 1) kicking MLS and then 2) the kick through the back of him to stop and attack. Could have easily had a caution for the number of fouls too... Very lucky to even be on the pitch.

Tzolis got a caution for complaining about being tackled on the attack...

Seems quite consistent for once.

No he didn't, he got cautioned for waving an imaginary card and the players have been told that is a mandatory caution. And it was a completely pointless caution as the referee was already showing the yellow card to the opponent.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Basically the same thing. Complaining about the lack of card, which as you said, is totally braindead as it was coming.

Because of training for a new job it's been on silent in "background" so not seen whole game.

It really isn't the same thing. If he'd said to the referee "come on old chap, don't you think that should have been a caution" he would have been fine, but instead he waved an imaginary yellow card. Players who do this must have rocks for brains as they know it is resulting in a caution.

But I assume that in this specific case it was an Arsenal ball boy who tried to waste time, because Estevao was about to pass that ball to Martinez, but the ball boy made sure he picked up the ball right before that and be slower in giving the ball to Martinez. Couldn't see what happened in the end, because they switched the cameras.

I also think that what Rogers did was something more than just complaining. In fact, he didn't even address the referee, just went straight for Rice.

It absolutely was much more than that, had he not been held back I'm sure we'd have had a serious incident there. Which I am sure Herr Tuchel is not best impressed about given they are England colleagues and spent much of the Summer together. It was a bit naughty from Rice, but it didn't justify that response, and the ultimate irony is Rogers would have almost certainly done exactly the same thing if he was the defender.
 
I might be in the minority ere but I'm perfectly happy with Gabriel not being sent off for the kick in the face.
Had there been a lot more force or it been with studs leading rather than the top of the foot, then absolutely a red, but it was a genuine attempt for the ball (albeit a silly one) and it was a little unfortunate. I don't think it was excessively forceful. Caution IMO.

Totally with you on this (and I'm a Spurs fan). Could understand a yellow for reckless play but definitely not a red for me.
 
Difficult to argue it didn't endanger the safety of an opponent.
Watching it again he's not even close to kicking the ball.
Accepted that these offences are often overlooked when they action is attempting to score or stop a goal.

I personally thought he was so far from the ball he knew what he was doing and just took the opportunity to kick Martinez. But that is very subjective and very difficult to judge a player's intentions so I don't think VAR could have recommended a review. Had Chris Kavanagh had somehow seem it in the scramble and sent him off I don't think that would have been overturned either.
