One of the angles, slowed down, made it look like he took eye off the ball and still took a swing at Saka.
Would you be thinking, if seen, a different colour?

It's a clear red. Saka has kicked the ball away. Whistle went ages before he kicked him. He has just used it as an excuse to kick an opponent.

Ticks all the boxes for a red.

Rumours in papers saying VAR told him red, but he refused. As a result he has been taken off fixtures this weekend.

Interesting. Would be pretty arrogant to refuse to take another look. Wouldn't surprise me if there's some truth in the report. Then again, could be fabricated nonsense. Who knows. Two 4O's in row, so maybe? Strange, cos he normally loves his red card

Was expecting an 'off you pop' moment tbh.
 
VAR isn't for incidents like this. The ref saw the incident clearly in context, don't blame him for not going for a look.

VAR watching it on slowmo is always going to recommend a red there.
