9v9 goal kicks

Momentary fear I’ve missed something. Had an U12 Saturday gone and another this week. Away side coaches claimed goal kicks can be taken from anywhere in the area from this season.

I was certain they’d conflated goal area with penalty area but can’t find a 20/21 9v9 LOTG.

Can someone save my sanity and confirm please?

9v9 does not have a GA, just a PA, so the two are the same thing. My eldest is at the 9v9 stage and every pitch has been the same thus far

Ahh - oddly this pitch had one painted. That’s what threw me.

The FA Guide to Pitch sizes shows both a goal area and penalty area, but I've seen some without the goal area.

I've had pitches with/without the goal area this season........if there is one painted I go with it for goal kicks, if not then let the keeper take the kick from anywhere in the penalty area, but always discuss it with the relevant coaches before the game.

Its interesting how different coaches can be with this....some are adamant that you use the goal area, others say lets take the goal kicks from anywhere and get the game going.
