So 2nd match this morning, under 12s today instead of under 18s last week. Jusy wondered if anybody else has done that amount of difference in age and what they found dfferent?

The Referee Store
U12s in my experience can be a bit more physical to each other leading to more fouls given, don't fret to give a yellow card just because they're younger, they should know basic rules by then. Ignore the parents and remember U11/U12s have CARs.

Take nothing for granted , u12s are easier to ref as there's far less dissent but usually more spectators who can be a pain at times and u18s just boss the game or they end up bossing you

Slower pace of game, less power in challenges and shots.

Usually less cynicism in the younger age groups, by the time they get to U18 they are normally a bit more savvy on the fouls to stop a promising attack. At younger age groups in general it’s a genuine attempt to get the ball that they’ve simply got wrong.

Younger age groups tend to have more parents watching and that can be more of a problem.
