The Ref Stop

The Ref Stop
They probably mean they can't disclose what is happening until the investigation has run its course and any sanctions have been issued and windows for appeals have ended. There's no reason they shouldn't inform the involved referee once that has all completed.

They confirmed to me everythings been completed. Thats why I think its weird they wont tell me.

It might have been completed but the window to appeal is still open. Ask them for the exact reasons why they can't tell you.

This could depend on a lot of things to be perfectly honest. The investigation may well not be complete yet (it takes absolutely ages usually, in my experience often several months for more serious incidents), or they may just genuinely not be able to tell you, although I don't see why that would be the case. Last season I had one incident where I was only contacted at the start and end of the investigation (at the end by my request). This season for one of my reports I never heard a thing back and for another incident I have been kept well and truly within the loop on information over the last 2 months (still ongoing). I don't understand why they couldn't tell you if the investigation has been completed though!

Its been like 3 months since the actual game, and it seems this was the last part of the investigation as the hearing was a while ago. I chased up to see if an outcome was made and all the could tell me was "All three cases against {Club Name} and individuals from {Club Name} from this fixture were found proven."

Perhaps, I just don't feel like its right to question their decision. I don't know what's right and wrong to do...

Report, and move on.
I understand. But as my post said, its not like I am a fully grown adult, who has a grown man come charging up to me. At the time I wasn't even 16 yet. Now all I've got in my head, is if it happens again, what if something more than that happens. If the team that were charged only received a slap on the wrist for everything that happened, then my safety isn't very prioritised and the team will do it again.

Is your Referee Assosciation helping and supporting you through the processes? If you feel your safety was at risk then that is a safeguarding issue that they need to look into. I think sometimes we feel things have got to a stage where we feel really hard done by and want to know that the perpetrators are getting what they deserve and I get that vibe from yourself. I think the best we can do is move on from it and not let it get to you, but also learn from it. Youth games were meant to be easy, and I am finding out that the amount of hormones on that pitch are actually something that makes them anything but.

If you find out the punishment and you don’t agree/like it, then what?

I had a similar scenario when I was 15. Abused by parents on a kids game, one of which ended up being the club and league child welfare officer. Then definitely got charged as they tied themselves in knots at the hearing, but I never ever found out the outcome. And I never really want to.

Well then its just tough, I just was interested to see how its delt with.

Understood.

It is actually surprising the amount of things a player/coach or parent can do or say to a young referee that would actually get them arrested if they did it in the street!

That's what my mum said. She was watching and said if she had recorded it, she would of probably taken it to the police. In the street if a grown man came charging up to a child and getting in the face, they would be legally in trouble...

There's nothing to stop you going to the police, if that is what you feel you need to do. Although you don't have a video, I'm sure thst there were no shortage of witnesses.
